Located close to the future recreational hub of the Wan Chai Waterfront, the design of this themed Eco Garden intends to create a welcoming urban park by surrounding the institutional facilities at its three sides and therefore maximising the opening abutting the street. Otherland worked with the award winner to create a rain garden in the middle of the square which will absorb the rainwater and surface drain from the surrounding recycled pavers. The architectural timber trellis with plants and climbers offers a dynamic backdrop to the signature tree at the central open space, providing shade and insulation, and promote natural ventilation. The rain garden cultivates a healthier ecosystem and resilient landscape, as well as facilitates the development of a green culture.
